Are you a current University of the West of Scotland student? Have you had experience in using social media for your work, education and career development? We are looking for students, under academic guidance, to provide 1-2-1 support in the form of social media surgeries to staff and students during @UWSInteractive week – become a social media student champion, help staff and students navigate the risks and take the lead in social media surgery provision across campuses.
If you’ve had experience of managing multi-media content and working across multiple online platforms then you could be our ideal candidate.
What will I learn?
- How to provide support to peers and colleagues, using examples from your own personal experience of using the web
- Working as a team, you will learn how to problem solve collectively and seek support from those around you
- Improve your communication skills, relating to explaining instructions and encouraging others to try new things
How will it benefit my studies/employment prospects?
- If you are a current student, you can use the experience gained from participating in the project to accrue work-related learning credit.
- You will be leading the way for a new initiative of student/staff partnerships, opening up possibility for future projects in this field
- @UWSInteractive is part of a larger university wide and national network of events happening during 2012 for the Olympic Games. Your work could reach a national and/or international audience.
How much will I get paid?
The project is funded by the “Developing and Supporting the Curriculum Enhancement Theme” within the University and we will be able to pay £7.23 an hour.
